Kice H. Stone was born and grew up in Ocilla, Georgia, a small agricultural community in rural South Georgia where he still maintains close ties with family and friends. He is the founding and managing partner of Stone and Driggers, LLC, a practice devoted to the trial and litigation of civil cases with a special focus on cases involving family law. Mr. Stone received a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Georgia and a J.D. from Walter F. George Law School at Mercer University. He received a Masters of Laws in Taxation from Emory University School of Law in 1975.

Mr. Stone began practicing law in Macon, Georgia following graduation from law school where he has continued to practice since that time. He has developed an extensive expertise in litigating and trying high profile and complex family law, civil and personal injury cases throughout Georgia. Mr. Stone has served as lead counsel on 35 appeals to the Supreme Court of Georgia, and he is licensed to practice in all of the courts of Georgia including the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals of the United States, and the United States Supreme Court.  Mr. Stone is also a certified mediator for the state of Georgia.

As a fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Mr. Stone has served its Georgia Chapter in numerous positions and as its President. He is also a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and a Charter member of the William A. Bootle American Inns of Court. Mr. Stone has additionally been actively involved in the State Bar of Georgia serving the organization’s Family Law Section as its Chairman. Mr. Stone has also served as President of the Mercer Law School Alumni Association and the Mercer University National Alumni Association.

Mr. Stone has lectured and published numerous articles for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education of Georgia, Georgia State University, Mercer University, and many other private and public institutions. He has also conducted many seminars regarding the trial of civil and family law matters.

Recognized annually since 1987 in Woodward and White’s listing of The Best Lawyers in America, Mr. Stone has become nationally recognized by his colleagues.  He is on the Martindale-Hubble list of AV Preeminent Lawyers, and has also been recognized annually as a Super Lawyer by Atlanta Magazine and Law & Politics Magazine since 2004 and as one of the top 100 Super Lawyers in the state in 2005 and 2006 (all peer reviewed awards and recognitions).

Mr. Stone is a member of the Macon Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the State Bar of Georgia.  In 2014, he received the Jack P. Turner Award for outstanding contributions and achievements in the area of family law, given annually by the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia.  Mr. Stone was also awarded the William Augustus Bootle award for professionalism by the Macon Bar Association in 2008.

Mr. Stone is married to Susan Harris Stone, his college sweetheart. They have one daughter and three grandchildren. Mr. Stone is a member of Christ Episcopal Church, where he and his family have been active for many years. His interests include fishing, hunting, woodworking and hiking in the mountains of western North Carolina, where he spends most of his time at his vacation home when not engaged in his law practice.
